Body identified as that of Catrelle Reed

The Kewanee Police Department announced Tuesday that the body discovered May 30 in rural Kewanee has been confirmed as that of Catrelle Reed.

Reed, 39, of Kewanee, had been reported missing on May 22. The body was found in a rural area west of Kewanee.

“Following an autopsy and investigation by the Henry County Coroner’s office, the identification was confirmed and shared with the Reed family,” the police department reported on its Facebook page Tuesday.

The post said that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Reed’s disappearance and death, being conducted by police in cooperation with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police, continues.
