The IHSA Boys State Track and Field competition occurred this weekend at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.
The top nine in each event advanced to finals on Saturday. Neither of Kewanee’s two state qualifiers advanced to the second day.
Senior Tyson Currie’s best of Friday for pole vault was 12′ 1.5″. Senior Leocadio Gandarilla’s best this weekend for shot put was 129′ 9″.
Currie finished in 22th place, and Gandarilla took 27th place.
