Kewanee High School senior Stardeja Jordan finished out her track career with a bang.
Stardeja qualified in shot put for the 2025 IHSA Girls Track & Field Meet in Charleston.
On Friday, during her last throw of the day, Stardeja moved herself into 12th place. The top 12 throwers in the field moved on to the state finals on Saturday.
Each year, the top nine throwers on Saturday receive medals, so Stardeja had a little bit of work to do to get hardware.
Like Friday, she waited until her last throw of the day to toss 11.16m (36′ 7.5″), to get her personal record for the year and place 8th in the state.

Other KHS competitors at state included Danielle Currier, who qualified in the long jump and triple jump, and Jendayia Crowe, who qualified for the 300 meter low hurdles.
Both girls competed on Friday but were unable to advance to Saturday’s finals.
