The Annawan/Wethersfield Titans and Stark County Varsity Rebels each walked away with a win during Saturday’s doubleheader matchup.

In Game 1, the Titans fell short, losing 5-3 to the Rebels. Stark County got on the board early when Cambri Holmstrom drew a walk, bringing in a run.

Despite a strong performance from Lauren Davis — who pitched all seven innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on nine hits while striking out six — the Titans couldn’t close the gap.

Brooklynn Ostrowski earned the win for the Rebels, striking out 11 and walking just two over seven innings while allowing three unearned runs.

Karsyn Rico led the Titans offensively with one RBI, going 1-for-3. Elynn Manuel and Davis each contributed two hits. Stark County was powered by Ostrowski, Hallie Newton, and Coley Johnston, each collecting two hits, while the team turned two double plays to seal the win.

The Titans bounced back in Game 2, edging out the Rebels 3-2 in a tightly contested game. Madison Smith took the mound and impressed, allowing just three hits and two runs (one earned) over six and two-thirds innings while striking out seven and issuing no walks.

Annawan/Wethersfield struck first in the second inning with a triple by Clara Bella VanOpdorp that scored a run. Davis followed up with an RBI single in the third to make it 2-0. The Rebels tied the game in the fourth, but an error in the fifth allowed the Titans to regain the lead for good.

Smith led the Titans at the plate as well, going 2-for-3, while Davis added another RBI to her day. Holmstrom and Ostrowski both drove in runs for the Rebels.
