

Two Kewanee men were taken to the Henry County Jail Thursday after law enforcement officers raided a home in the 800 block of Birch Place.
Kewanee police, assisted by the Black Hawk Area Task Force, the Henry and Stark County SWAT Team and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at the residence and arrested Jordan Hart, 32, and Keywon Nichols, 22.
Police Chief Stephen Kijanowski issued a news release Thursday afternoon saying the officers searched the house and found cannabis, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), cocaine, packaging materials, digital scales,and two firearms.
Hart faces preliminary charges of possession of 500 – 2,000 grams of cannabis (Class 3 felony), possession of 500 – 2,000 grams of cannabis with Intent to Deliver (Class 2 felony), possession of a controlled substance less than 15 grams (Class 4 felony), possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver less than 15 grams (Class 3 felony), possession of a controlled substance 15-100 grams (Class 1 felony), Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver 15 – 100 grams (Class X]felony and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Nichols faces preliminary charges of possession of 500 – 2,000 grams of cannabis (Class 3 felony) and possession of 500 – 2,000 grams of cannabis with intent to deliver (Class 2 felony).
A Class 2 felony carries a potential sentence of 3 to 7 years in state prison, while a Class X felony carries a potential sentence of 6 to 30 years.
The Henry County State’s Attorney’s office will review the case and determine the formal charges, Kijanowski said.
