Police recovered a wallet that had been left in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer located the owner and returned it.
Police assisted Knox County with checking a residence for a suspect vehicle that was involved in a pursuit with them earlier. The suspect was not located.
March 4:
Police assisted the Bureau County Coroner’s Office with a death notification at a residence on SE 2nd Street.
Police responded to a traffic complaint in the 500 block of SW 3rd Avenue.
Police responded to a verbal disturbance complaint in the t00 block of SW 4th Street. The report was unfounded.
March 5:
Police spoke to a resident about a city ordinance violation in the 100 block of NE 9th Street.
Police spoke to a resident about a city ordinance violation in the 00 block of NE 9th Street.
Police spoke to a resident about a city ordinance violation in the 300 block of SW 4th Avenue.
Police spoke to a resident about a city ordinance violation in the 500 block of SW 3rd Street.
Police and fire departments responded to a downed powerline and a transformer that was sparking near the intersection of South Center Avenue and SW 3rd Street. Ameren also responded for repairs.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line call in the 300 block of NE 1st Street. It was determined to be a young child playing on a parent’s phone.
March 6:
Police provided traffic control for several vehicles owned by Dawson technologies as they completed a study along Route 34 east of town.
Police attempted to locate a vehicle owner of a disabled vehicle near Woodhull in the 100 block of NE 3rd Street. The vehicle had a flat tire, which was replaced and then removed.
Police assisted a citizen in the 00 block of NE 4th Avenue.
March 7:
Police watched for a possible impaired driver at the north edge of town who was heading towards Galva. The officer located the vehicle but did not find any probable cause for a traffic stop.
Police responded to a two-vehicle accident with damage only at the intersection of SE 8th Avenue and SE 2nd Street. A crash report was completed.
Police responded to an activated medical alert in the 600 block of SW 2nd Avenue. The resident was testing a new life alert necklace. False alarm.
Police responded to a domestic dispute in the 100 block of SE 4th Street.
March 8:
Police responded to a crossing arm malfunction at the SW 6th Avenue railroad tracks. The gates were activated but no trains were present. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Police responded to a report of a subject screaming and yelling in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street. The subject was suffering from a mental health crisis but agreed to keep the noise down.
Police responded to a report of juveniles knocking on the door and then running away in the 300 block of NW 1st Street. The officer was not able to locate the subjects involved.
March 9:
Police responded to a domestic dispute in the 400 block of SE 7th Avenue.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 800 block of NE 3rd Avenue.
Police met with a resident at the Galva Police Department to update their annual sex offender registration. A completed form was emailed to Henry County for LEADS entry.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 700 block of NW 1st Avenue. Two dogs were impounded.
Police responded to a traffic complaint of a reckless driver at the east edge of town. The suspect vehicle was located and stopped. A written warning was given.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up call in the 200 block of NE 7th Street It was determined to be an accidental dial.
Police responded to several complaints about a stopped train. BNSF was contacted and the train eventually moved along.
Adeeba Rashid, 60, Kewanee, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 1000 block of SE 2nd Street.
Patrick Pendergast, 60, Galesburg, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of SE 2nd Street.
