

The Kewanee Elks #724 announced that the February “Teens of the Month” are Katelyn Attig and Camron O’Brien.
Attig is the daughter of Joshua and Amanda Attig. A senior at Annawan High School, her GPA is 4.99/5.0 scale, with a class rank of 5 out of 26. Her four-year achievements include High Honor Roll, All-Conference Academic golf, band, concert band, pep band, honors band, solo and ensemble contest, Drama Club, FCA Youth Leader, FFA, student council, golf and scholastic team.
Her three-year achievements are the National Honor Society, student council representative. Two-year achievements are 4-H vice-president, Black Hawk College Dean’s List, jazz band and woodwind section leader. One-year achievements are as FFA treasurer, FFA reporter, FFA secretary, drum major, 4-H teen teacher, Building Community officer, co-captain of the golf team, school plays, Spanish Club and yearbook staff.
Her community service includes volunteering for Cloverbud Academy, Love Light Tree, FCA Christmas Store, library help, Valentine’s Suckers, Trunk or Treat, pork burger pickup, FFA week lessons and Anderson Consignment Sale.
O’Brien is the son of Sean O’Brien and Shelli Halsall. He is a senior at Galva High School, with a class rank of 9 out of 34 and a GPA of 3.66/4.0 Scale. Four-year achievements are in High Honor Roll, All-Conference Academics football, band, marching band, concert and pep band, FFA, Scholastic Team and trap shooting. He has a three-year achievement in All-Conference Academics baseball. One-year achievements include state FFA degree, Rotary Club Honor Student, class president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, historian, co-captain for football and student council.
His community service includes volunteering at BHC Pipes & Drums, Sons of American Legion/ flag duties.
