A fire destroyed a garage Friday on Wilbur Street and damaged a shed behind the garage.
Capt. Bennett Riber of the Kewanee Fire Department said Monday that the fire reported by a motorist who was driving by.
The garage was “fully involved” when firefighters arrived, Riber said.
The detached garage and its contents were a total loss, he said, as was the small shed behind the garage.
Firefighters were also dispatched Sunday to West Division Street, where a house had reportedly filled with smoke.
Riber said there was no fire; a belt had burned out on a furnace fan.
