In recognition of GivingTuesday, a Kewanee donor who wishes to remain anonymous, say they will match donations up to $500 made to The Kewanee Voice. The donor is issuing this challenge to all community members and readers of the nonprofit news organization’s website.
Initiated in 2012, and touted as a “global generosity movement,” GivingTuesday, observed on Dec. 3 this year, unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world.
The donor said they believe that a community is best served with a strong journalism presence and believe the work that the Voice does is important in keeping residents informed. Because of that, they will put their money where their mouth is and match donations up to the $500.
