The Kewanee Park District was recognized for its 105 years in providing the community with parks and recreation at the Illinois Association of Park District’s Best of the Best Awards Gala.
The event took place on Friday, Oct. 25 in Wheeling, Ill. at the Chevy Chase Country Club. Park Commissioners Nichelle Morey and Paula Kapacinskas attended the award ceremony and accepted the recognition on the park district’s behalf.
The KPD was one of several Illinois park districts recognized for agency anniversaries. Decatur Park District celebrated 100 years this year; Winnetka celebrated 120 years and Park Ridge Park District celebrated 110 years.
