A food drive in memory of Gordon Vickrey will help fill the Good Fellow’s Christmas baskets that feed Kewanee families in need. The baskets are delivered annually by volunteers, students and the Key Club each December.
The food drive will be held at Lyle, Belle, Irving, Central, KHS, Neponset, Visitation and Wethersfield schools.
Canned goods or nonperishable items are being accepted as is money donations from residents from Monday, Nov. 18 through Thursday, Dec. 19. The classroom that collects the most food items from each building will take part in a pizza party sponsored by the Key Club.
