The Boilermaker soccer team hosted Canton High School on Thursday night, Oct. 10, and won 3-0.
Both teams had scoring opportunities in the first half, but only Kewanee’s Senior Alonso Corral was able to find the back of the net.
In the second half, the Boilers quickly added another goal from freshman Alex Barron.
The Boiler defense continued to hold off the Little Giants’ attack. With five minutes remaining, Corral had a shot that went in off a Canton defender, extending the Boiler lead to 3.
The Boilers will be in action for their regional quarter final game against IVC in Chillicothe on Oct. 16, with kickoff at 6 p.m.
