Kewanee High School’s soccer team traveled to IVC High School in Chillicothe Monday and came away with a 3-0 win.
“Since the beginning, the Boilermakers took control of the game with the possession of the ball passing the ball all over the field,” Coach Jesus Bermudez said.

“Kewanee stroked first, Isidro Martinez kicked from far a powerful shot that gave no chance to the keeper to react,” Bermudez said.
Tyson Currie was the next one to score, beating the defense in speed and beating the goalkeeper with a “beautiful soft shot,” the coach said.

Isidro Martinez scored the final goal.
Martinez scored at minutes 12 and 32 of first half, and Tyson Currie’s goal came at minute 29 of the first half.
Alex Barron had two assists and Alonso Corral had one.
Goalkeeper Dillon Price had five saves, and the Boilers had 18 shots during the game.
On Tuesday, Kewanee played Macomb to a 0-0 tie at Kewanee High School Stadium.

“It was “a very even game, anyone could have won,” Bermudez said.
“Macomb had very fast players but the Kewanee defense was able to stop them,” he said, and added, “The Boilermakers fought hard the whole game without any luck to score.”
Kewanee had five shots on target and Dillon Price had five saves.
