
Sept. 9:
Police responded to a wild animal complaint involving a red fox that was sitting on the front porch in the 500 block of NW 5th Avenue. The fox left prior to the officer’s arrival.
Police dropped off an Illinois license plate that had been found in the downtown area to a residence in the 400 block of NW 1st Street.
Police were notified of a disabled tractor in the 1200 block of NW 3rd Avenue. It was removed by a dealership for repairs.
Police responded to a report involving a subject shooting a BB gun towards a roadway in the 600 block of SE 2nd Street. The subject ran into the residence when the officer approached. Two BB guns were seized.
Police were flagged down about a large tote that had fallen from a vehicle and spilled into the roadway in the 1300 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer removed the items from the roadway.
Juan Palacio-Garcia, 26, Miami, Fla., was arrested for not having a valid driver’s license, not having valid registration, and operating an uninsured vehicle as a result of a traffic stop in the 100 block of Market Street. A passenger, Rolando Brand, 30, Miami, Fla., was arrested on a valid warrant from Broward County, Fla., for grand theft 3rd degree. Both subjects were taken to the Henry Co Jail.
Police responded to a report of a suicidal subject at a residence on NW 7th Avenue. The subject was located and transported by ambulance.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line call in the 300 block of SE 3rd Street. It was determined to be a misdial.
Police responded to a possible trespassing complaint in the 100 block of NE 4th Street. The officer searched the house and was not able to find anyone there.
Police responded to a harassment complaint after a vehicle repeatedly drove past playing loud music and revving the engine in the 400 block of SW 3rd Avenue. The officer located two juvenile offenders and advised them to cease their activities.
Sept. 10:
Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 500 block of NW 3rd Avenue. It was determined to be an accidental pocket dial.
Police assisted Knox County in an attempt to locate a subject in the 900 block of West Division Street.
Police responded to a burglary complaint in the 500 block of West Division Street.
Police met with a subject at the Galva Police Department about a civil matter between a landlord and tenant.
Police responded to a request to watch for a reckless driver who was reportedly heading towards Galva at the east edge of town. The officer located the suspect vehicle in the 1000 block of SE 2nd Street. The driver said they were fatigued. There were no signs of impairment. The subject called for a ride.
Police responded to a civil standby to retrieve property in the 200 block of County Hwy 5.
Sept. 11:
Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line call in the 100 block of NE 1st Street. The subject was located at work and advised it was a pocket dial.
Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance in the 900 block of West Division Street.
Police met with a resident at the Galva Police Department to update their annual sex offender registration. A completed form was emailed to Henry County for LEADS entry.
Police responded to a theft in progress complaint in the 200 block of Morgan Road. This complaint was unfounded.
Police responded to a lost juvenile complaint in the 700 block of NW 3rd Avenue. The officer called the parent, who came and picked up the child.
Police responded to a crossing arm malfunction at the SW 6th Avenue railroad crossing. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Tamera Henderson, 26, Toulon, was issued a citation for speeding in the 800 block of North Center Avenue.
Delmer Bermudez, 42, Peoria, was issued a citation for speeding in the 300 block of South Center Avenue.
Sept: 12:
Police responded to a report of two loose dogs in the 100 block of SE 1st Avenue. The dogs were returned to their owner.
Police responded to a criminal damage complaint involving some carvings located on the playground equipment at the Galva Park District.
Police assisted Henry County probation with a couple of Galva home visits.
Sept.13:
Police responded to a crossing arm malfunction at the SW 6th Avenue train tracks. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Sean Carlson, 26, Galesburg, was arrested for driving while his license was suspended, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance, and having expired registration during a traffic stop in the 100 block of South Center Avenue. He was taken to the Galva Police Department for processing and later released with a required court date.
Police were flagged down about a driving complaint in the 300 block of NW 8th Avenue.
Police met with a subject who brought a loose dog they had captured to the Galva Police Department. The dog was impounded and later released to its owner.
Police completed a slow-moving vehicle inspection in the 800 block of NW 3rd Avenue.
Sept. 14:
Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance in the 00 block of NW 5th Street.
Police assisted Henry County with a traffic stop for a misdemeanor speeding violation east of town on Route 34.
Police responded to a trespassing issue in the 00 block of SW 4th Street. The complaint was unfounded.
Christopher Donelson, 37, Davenport, was issued a citation for speeding in the 800 block of North Center Avenue.
John Komarek, 70, Boulder, Colo., was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.
Sept. 15:
Police responded to a report of a suicidal subject at a residence on NE 5th Street. The subject was located in a nearby town.
Police watched for a reckless driver west of town. The suspect vehicle was located, but no probable cause was established for a traffic stop.
Police assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street.
Police assisted Henry County with an accident east of town on Route 34.
Gabrielle Ackel, 33, Kewanee, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.
