With the support of the Hog Days committee, The Kewanee Voice has published its first print newspaper-The Hog Herald.

The Herald, which contains all things Hog Days, hit the stands at several locations Wednesday afternoon including Walgreens, Shell-Johnson Oil and Beck Oil, north and south locations. Over the weekend, it will be available at 37 locations throughout Kewanee.

The free 16-page newspaper includes articles published by The Voice online, as well as original columns, yet to be seen, by Dave Clarke, Mike Berry, Greg Christakos and Susan DeVilder.

Included in The Hog Herald is the schedule of the Hog Days Festival, as well as dates and time for entertainment, a rundown of some of the events and photos. The newspaper will be available, while supplies last, over Labor Day weekend at the Hog Days souvenir shop and the ticket booths.

The printed publication is just the first that The Kewanee Voice hopes to publish. Plans for a year-in-review edition are underway with the goal to put that newspaper on the stands by the end of December or beginning of January 2025.
