Four KHS softball players earn all-state honors

Four players from Kewanee High School’s softball team have received all-state honors from the Illinois Coaches Association.

All but one of the honorees will be back for next year’s softball season.

Honored were:

— Kaleigh Gale, a sophomore pitcher and infielder;

— Hannah Tiska, a senior outfielder;

— Kieryn Abernathy, a freshman catcher and infielder;

— Remy Hicks, a freshman infielder and outfielder.

Gale and Tiska received second-team selections, and Abernathy and Hicks were named to the third team.

Other area softball players honored included Lesleigh Maynard and Maddie Smith of Bureau Valley, both to the second team; and Emily Wright of Bureau, a third-team honoree.
