Saturday, June 15, will be the last day for K-12 students to earn a Certificate of Service from State Rep. Travis Weaver.
To earn the certificate, students must fill one bag of trash collected from a public space, then submit a photo and fill out their info at this link.
“You’d be shocked how much garbage there is in our public spaces,” Rep. Weaver said. “This is a great way to teach your children about service, spend time together, and make your community a better place.
“Also, with the warm weather we have now, it’s a joy to be walking outside,” Weaver added.
He asked people to share the information on the cleanup effort with their friends and family “so we can join together in cleaning up Illinois.”
