The St. Jude Kewanee to Peoria Run, an annual charity event that benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, will be held on Saturday, July 20, but leading up to the big day, several meetings and a fundraiser are on the schedule.
On Sunday, June 9, an informational meeting at Black Eagle Fitness will be held. Those thinking about participating in the run, volunteering for the event, driving a vehicle or being a can shaker are asked to attend the meeting, which is scheduled at 5:30 p.m.
On Saturday, June 22 at 8 p.m., a fundraiser will be held at Midland Golf Course, located at 3534 Midland Rd. The Dueling Pianos Fundraiser will begin at 8 p.m.
On Sunday, July 14, a mandatory meeting will be held at Black Eagle Fitness, located at 112 S. Chestnut St. All participants, volunteers and drivers should plan to attend at 5:30 p.m.
On Saturday, July 20, at 5 a.m., the St. Jude Kewanee to Peoria Run will take place with the starting point at Kewanee Physical Therapy and Rehab Specialists, located at 110 E. 10 St., Kewanee.
Since the charity event’s inception in 2012, supporters of the 54-mile run from Kewanee to Peoria have raised over $460,000 to further St. Jude’s mission. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way to treat and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
