The Garden Club of Kewanee will hold its annual Kewanee Garden Club Plant Sale on Saturday, May 18. The one-day event will be held rain or shine at the Zion Lutheran Church located at 250 East St. South.
The hours for the sale will be 7-11:30 a.m. and the sale will offer residents a chance to purchase a variety of plants, bulbs, garden equipment and decorations.
Joline Oswald, the club’s past president, said that the proceeds from the plant sale will be used to create two scholarships for Kewanee High School students who are pursuing degrees in various agriculture-horticulture related areas.
“That’s taken years of work,” said Oswald, who hopes residents turn out to support the club’s efforts.
