It wasn’t a kitten in a tree situation that the Kewanee Fire Department responded to Friday, April 19, but rather a pit bull in a well.
According to a social media post by the KFD, “the black shift put their technical rescue and rope certifications to good use.” Station 1 and 2 responded to a residence for a call of a dog in a “well.”
When crews arrived on the scene Friday morning, they found a “very friendly and cold pit bull in a cistern.”
Using rope and a ladder, the crew worked to get the dog out of the water and back onto dry land.
According to the KFD, the pup appeared “very thankful.”
