Eastman and Gehl named Kewanee Elks ‘Teens of the Month’

The Kewanee Elks #724 has named Elleora Eastman and Dylan Gehl as its April “Teens of the Month.”

Eastman is the daughter of Chuck and Annie Eastman. A senior at Wethersfield High School, her GPA is 5.5/5.0 scale with a class rank of 6 out of 39.

Her four-year achievements include High Honor roll, All-Conference Academic in basketball, volleyball, track, cross country, band, marching band, concert band, pep band, honors band and Key Club. She has a two-year achievement in the National Honor Society, All-Conference in golf, as track co-captain and Grub Club. For two years, she also participated in school plays, volleyball, poms, FFA, yearbook staff, student council and the scholastic team. She has one-year achievements in All-Conference academic softball, Key Club webmaster, band president, vice-president, NHS Librarian Awards, cross country most improved and most valuable player.

Her awards include basketball free throw, Track Fabulous 4, best thrower and captain, with community service activities of volunteering to clean the church and assisting with volleyball tournaments. In addition, she has been active in Relay For Life, the crop walk, Food Pantry, choir festival, the Christmas Festival craft show and Key Club programs.

Gehl is the son of Barney and Maria Gehl. A junior at Geneseo High School, his class rank is top 10% with a GPS of 4.29/4/0 scale. He has three-year achievements in High Honor Roll, All-Conference Academic track, cross country, musicals, chorus and swing choir. His two-year achievements include class president, Drama Club, Scholastic Team, robotics, Environmental and Dance Marathon and pep band. He was in the student council for one year.

Awards and recognitions include holding the 3200m and cross country record, and his community service activities include volunteering for the community choir and an outstanding nomination in solo contest and dance marathon.
