Police met with a subject at the Galva Police Department to explain options for resolving a traffic citation they received a couple of weeks ago.
Police responded to a complaint involving an older male adult attempting to talk to two female juveniles who were walking in the 100 block of NE 2nd Street. The officer was not able to locate the suspect or vehicle.
While patrolling, police checked on a subject parked in the roadway on Bonham Road near 1950 East. The subject had stopped to make a phone call.
Police assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street. The vehicle was ultimately towed, per the owner’s request.
Police responded to a runaway juvenile complaint in the 900 block of North Center Avenue. The juvenile was located at a friend’s house across town.
April 9:
Police responded to a request to check around the Galva area for a vehicle that had been taken without permission. The officer was not able to locate it.
Police responded to a request to check the welfare of a subject after the Geneseo Police Department received an open line call in the 400 block of NW 2nd Avenue. The subject in question no longer lives in Galva.
Police responded to a request for a welfare check at a residence on NW 7th Street. The subject was entered as a missing person-adult. The subject has since been located and is fine.
Police responded to a runaway juvenile complaint in the 900 block of North Center Avenue. Crisis intervention was contacted to resolve this ongoing issue.
April 10:
Police were notified of a vehicle repossession taking place in the 400 block of SW 1st Avenue. There were no issues.
Brandi York, 30, Galva, was arrested for driving while her license was suspended, operating a vehicle with an expired registration, and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 900 block of North Center Avenue. She was transported to the Galva Police Department for processing and then released with a required court date.
Police assisted a subject suffering from a mental health crisis in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street.
Police spoke with a subject who had questions about being banned from a business several years ago in the 700 block of NW 4th Street. After speaking to the owner of the business, the ban will remain in effect.
Police completed a low-speed vehicle inspection in the 300 block of SW 7th Street.
Police spoke to a resident by telephone regarding threatening phone calls they had received from a family member.
April 11:
Police assisted a parent with an out-of-control juvenile who insisted on walking to their other parent’s house in Kewanee in the 400 block of SW 3rd Street. The child was detained and later calmed down enough to return home.
Police responded to a request to assist the ambulance with a medical emergency involving an unresponsive subject in the 00 block of SW 4th Street. The complaint was unfounded.
April 12:
Police met with a subject at the Galva Police Department who wished to file an identity theft complaint after several credit cards were opened in his name without his knowledge or consent.
Police met with a subject at the Galva Police Department to complete a traffic crash report from a fender bender at a gas station a few days earlier.
Police responded to assist a citizen whose dog had broken its leash and ran away in the 00 block of SW 4th Street. The officer was able to capture the animal and return it.
Police were contacted by a local hospital about a subject needing a ride home. The officer was not able to provide a ride.
April 13:
Police responded to the Exchange Street railroad crossing for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Police responded to a neighbor dispute in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.
Police responded to a complaint involving a yard ornament being damaged in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.
Police met with a subject at the Galva Police Department who turned in a wallet they had found. The wallet was returned to its owner.
Police responded to a report of a suspect vehicle traveling Eastbound on Route 34 near Wataga that had been involved in a pursuit in Warren County earlier. The officer sat near the west edge of town but did not locate the vehicle.
Police responded to a disturbance complaint involving juveniles throwing items at a subject in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street.
Gualajara Melendez, 39, Moline, was issued citations for speeding and no insurance in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.
Jeffrey Reynolds, 42, Kewanee, was issued citations for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.
Natalie Johnson, 39, Galva, was issued citations for having expired registration and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 300 block of SE 2nd Street.
April 14:
Police responded to a physical altercation involving several subjects in the 700 block of NW 1st Avenue. One subject was located that had obvious facial injuries, however, they refused to cooperate with the police. The victim was transported by ambulance for treatment.
Police were notified by the Kewanee Police Department about a Galva resident who had left Walmart with unrestrained children in the vehicle. Kewanee police were able to locate the suspect vehicle and address the complaint.
Police responded to several complaints involving loud music in the 400 block of SE 7th Avenue. The subject agreed to turn the music down.
Thomas Swing, 22, Knoxville, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for no insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street. Swing was also wanted on a Knox County warrant for failure to appear on the charge of unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Per Knox County, he was released with a notice to appear in court.
Police responded to the SW 6th Avenue railroad tracks for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Nicholas Carvello, 31, Galva, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 300 block of North Center Avenue.
