Are you looking for a quick dinner option that will be a hit with your family at your dinner table? If so, Julie Loitz’s Creamy Baked Chicken is definitely a dish to try. It takes less than five minutes to prepare before baking, and when I tried it out this week, everyone at my table had a clean plate.
Julie remembers her mom making this quick and easy meal when she was growing up. She then started making it for her kids when they were little, and it easily became one of their favorites. It was such a favorite that they even gave it a nickname: Slop.
Her kids would come home from school and request Slop for dinner. Needless to say, her kids loved this meal, and still do to this day. They are now in their 20s and when they come home, they still ask to have Slop for dinner.

Julie suggests pairing the chicken with roasted broccoli and bow tie pasta seasoned with butter, pepper, and parmesan cheese. This combination is exactly what I made this week and can confirm that these side dishes perfectly compliment the chicken dish. The Swiss cheese, apple juice and soup combine together to create a sauce that pairs nicely with the bow tie pasta while keeping the chicken juicy and flavorful.
Whether you call it Creamy Baked Chicken or Slop, I hope you give this recipe a try. It may become a new favorite in your family too. From Julie’s kitchen to yours, enjoy!
