Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 700 block of NW Fifth Avenue. The dog returned home before it was located by the officer.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 00 block of NW Fourth Street. It was determined to be a misdial.
Police were informed of a controlled fire that would be taking place just west of town on Bonham Road.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a fight in progress in the 300 block of SW Third Street. The officer determined that the caller was having a mental health crisis.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call at the elementary school playground area. It was determined to be a young child playing with a phone.
Police met with a subject at the Galva Police Department to inspect a slow-moving vehicle for a permit.
Police assisted a business with banning a subject that caused issues there in the 300 block of Front Street. The subject was served with a banning letter.
Police responded to a request by City Hall to retrieve a check that had been found in the yard. The officer delivered the check to the rightful owner.
Police, along with the fire department, Stark County Medic, Life flight helicopter, Henry County Sheriff’s Department, and the Office of Emergency Management (OEM), were dispatched to the Galva Big River Resources Ethanol Plant for a subject that had received severe burns. The patient was airlifted to Iowa City for treatment.

Feb. 22:
Police noticed a train stopping and blocking every crossing in town while on patrol. A few minutes later, it began moving again and the crossings were re-opened.
Angelo D’Andrea, 86, Galva, was arrested for operating a vehicle with a canceled driver’s license in the 200 block of SW Second Avenue. He was released with a required court date.
Police responded to a report of two loose dogs in the 800 block of SE Second Street. Both dogs were located and impounded.
Feb. 23:
Police responded to a crossing arm malfunction at the Exchange Street railroad crossing. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 200 block of SE Second Street. The dog’s owner was able to catch the animal.
Police recovered a package that was delivered to the wrong address in the 300 block of SE Third Street and took it to the rightful owner.
Kyle Leverette, 26, Lafayette, was issued a citation for no lights when required in the 600 block of SE Industrial Avenue. A passenger, Kayla Snider, 34, Kewanee, got into a physical altercation with the officer when he attempted to arrest her on a Henry County warrant for failing to appear on the charge of driving under the influence of drugs. She was taken into custody and charged with resisting or obstructing a police officer as well as the warrant. She was taken to the Henry Co Jail.

Nichole Gillespie, 46, Galesburg, was issued citations for not having any registration and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 500 block of West Division Street.

Police noticed the crossing arms were activated at the Exchange Street railroad crossing with no trains present while patrolling. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 100 block of NE First Street. It was determined to be a misdial.
Rebecca Muckey, 35, Galva, became involved in a physical altercation with an officer in the 500 block of NW Fifth Street. She was arrested for resisting a police officer, possession of adult-use cannabis in a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for no insurance, and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released with a required court date.
Police responded to a two-vehicle accident with damage only in the 300 block of Main Street. A crash report was completed.

Police responded to a complaint of a loose and aggressive dog in the 300 block of SE Second Street. As a result, Paige Davis, 27, Galva, was issued a notice to appear in court for violating the Illinois leash law.
Police responded to a utility complaint involving downed lines in the 200 block of NW Fourth Avenue. It was determined to be a cable line and Mediacom was notified for repairs.
Feb. 25:
Police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint in the 100 block of South Center Avenue. It was determined to be family members of a resident there.
Police responded to a complaint of a verbal neighborhood dispute in the 600 block of NW First Street. The subjects agreed to stay separated.
