
The Annawan Braves (2) made easy work of the Amboy Clippers (14) Monday night with a 62-27 quarterfinals win at Annawan.
The Braves (23-8) will now play Galva (10-20) Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Wethersfield High School. Galva (9) topped St. Bede (10) by a score of 57-50.
Third-seeded Fulton had little trouble with DePue (12), winning by the lopsided score of 72-25 at Fulton. DePue closes out their season with a record of 7-23, while Fulton moves to 21-11.
Fulton will now take on host Wethersfield (10-20) Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The Geese scored a 63-48 win over LaMoille (11). LaMoille ends their season with a record of 7-23.
All games are part of the 1A Wethersfield Regional.
Annawan 62, Amboy 27
The Braves jumped out to a 19-4 first quarter lead over the Clippers and expanded the lead to 33-12 at the half.
Annawan outscored Amboy 29-15 in the second half to cruise to the 62-27 quarterfinals win.
For the Braves, Brody Childs led all scorers with 17 points. Tommy Covington and Maddux Heitzler each scored 11 and Gabe Sims added eight on the night.
Galva 57, St. Bede 50
St. Bede took a 17-9 first quarter lead over Galva, but the Wildcats turned the tables in the second quarter and outscored the Bruins 17-10 to pull within a point of St. Bede at the half (27-26).
Galva picked up where they left off in the second quarter and outscored the Bruins 19-10 in the third frame to take a 45-37 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
St. Bede won the final quarter, 13-12, but Galva hung on for the 57-50 quarterfinal win.
