
The Lady Geese extended their win streak to 13 games after Saturday’s 64-40 non-conference win over the Bureau Valley Storm. Wethersfield is now 16-2 on the season and Bureau Valley falls to 11-9.
Kennady Anderson had a hot start to the game, scoring 12 early points and leading the Lady Geese to a 15-9 first quarter advantage.
Wethersfield made good on five 3-pointers in the first half while opening up a 35-19 lead at the break.
Anderson racked up 17 first half points for the Lady Geese and Lynzie Cady led the Storm with eight points.
Bureau Valley closed the gap to 12 points in the third quarter at 50-38, but Wethersfield outscored the Storm 14-2 in the last quarter of play to cruise to the 64-40 win.
Lajaya Angel scored 10 points in the second half and 13 for the game. Lana Scott tossed in eight of her 10 points in the second half.
Anderson led all scorers with 22 points, Angel added 13, Scott had 10 and Emersyn Nelson contributed nine points.
Cady finished with 10 points for the Storm, while Kate Salisbury and Taylor Stroller each scored eight.
Wethersfield’s next game is Monday at 7:30 pm against Knoxville (6-8, 2-3 in the LTC).
