Geese drop home game to Morrison

The Wethersfield Flying Geese lost a close home game to Morrison Friday night by a score of 56-49.

Senior forward Carson Strating made three treys to help Morrison open up a 16-9 first quarter lead. Wethersfield outscored Morrison in the middle two quarters 29-24, but the Mustangs still held a slim 40-38 lead heading into the fourth quarter. 

Wethersfield had three players hit threes in the 13-11 second quarter (Zeb Rashid, Ryker Gillespie and Landon Sauer). Sauer had seven in the frame.

In the 16-13 third quarter, Colin Hornback scored seven and Rashid added another six. Strating scored five more for the Mustangs. 

Morrison outlasted Wethersfield in the last quarter, 16-11 and 56-49 for the game. Dawson Hepner tossed in six for the Mustangs and Sauer added four to his 14-point tally. Rashid led the Geese with 15 points.

Strating led all scorers with 18 points and Brenden Martin had 12 for the 2-3 Mustangs. The Geese are now 3-4 on the season.
