
After hiring three new employees over the past six months, The Kewanee Voice is announcing the hiring of additional staff. Wanted are candidates for an advertising representative and a correspondent.
The two positions will round out the staff and help the nonprofit online news site grow and achieve long term sustainability.

Seeking: Ad Representative for The Kewanee Voice
Position: Ad Representative Type: Part-Time (20 hours/week) Compensation: Base Pay + Commission Location: Kewanee and surrounding sales areas
Are you an outgoing, self-motivated individual with a knack for sales? Our digital news site is looking for an Ad Representative to join our team and help us expand our business relationships in Kewanee and the surrounding areas. As our Ad Rep, you’ll play a crucial role in driving our success and expanding our reach into the business community.
Key Responsibilities:
-Establishing and nurturing business contacts
-Scheduling and managing appointments
-Conducting in-person and phone sales calls
Requirements:
-Sales experience preferred
-Must have a valid driver’s license
-Strong written and oral communication skills
-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Seeking: Correspondent/Stringer for The Kewanee Voice
Position: Correspondent/Stringer Type: Independent Contractor Location: Kewanee and Surrounding Areas
Our nonprofit digital news site is seeking a talented and motivated Correspondent/Stringer to join our team. As our correspondent, you’ll play a key role in producing high-quality content, writing engaging articles and capturing impactful photos to tell the stories of Kewanee and its neighboring communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce content and write articles covering a variety of topics
Take photos to accompany your articles
Cover meetings and events in the Kewanee area
Requirements:
-Solid writing background and strong writing skills
-Must have a driver’s license/transportation
-Previous news writing or writing experience is preferred but will train the right candidate
-Photography experience is a plus
-Willingness to cover evening meetings and some weekend events
Compensation: Pay is based on experience.
