Marianne Culver recently joined the board of directors for The Kewanee Voice, the nonprofit digital news publication that serves Kewanee and the surrounding area.
The addition of Culver will round out the board to seven members. Culver will join directors TD Welch, Paula Kapacinskas, Nichelle Morey, Van DeVilder, Jesse Humphrey and Jean Berlinski.
Culver was born and raised in Kewanee and graduated from Kewanee High School. She is married with four children.
A graduate of Black Hawk College and Western University, she now works as a counselor with Henry County Youth Services Bureau and has been in the social services field since 1994.
Culver manages the Kewanee Historical Society and is the cohost of the podcast Kewanee Memory Lane. In her free time, she enjoys researching Kewanee history and genealogy.
From an early age, local news interested her, she said.
“Local news has been important to me since a young age,” said Culver. “The Kewanee Voice is a great source for Kewanee news, and I wanted to be a part of keeping Kewaneeans informed.”
