Search still underway for missing Kewanee man

Catrelle Reed of Kewanee was last seen on Thursday, May 22. The Kewanee Police Department is asking for the public’s help to find him.

Kewanee police are still searching for a Kewanee man who was last seen on Thursday, May 22.

Catrelle Reed had his last known contact at approximately 2 p.m. Thursday and the Kewanee Police Department put out a Facebook post over the weekend asking residents for help in locating him.

According to the KPD post, Reed was believed to be wearing brown boots, blue jeans and a high-visibility vest at the time he went missing. Police also noted distinctive tattoos of a rose on his hand, wings on his neck and several other tattoos on his upper body.

Police are asking for anyone who has seen Reed or has any information about his whereabouts, to contact the KPD at 309-853-1911 or to call 9-1-1.

After the public requested more information about the missing man, police released a second post offering the following:

-There is currently no vehicle description

-There is no verified location from which Reed is known to be missing.

-Search efforts have taken place in areas of interest, including where a vehicle was believed to have been driven and later parked near his residence.

-The police have requested and reviewed camera footage from locations near those areas.

-The KPD is utilizing every investigative resource available, including the Flock license plate reader cameras, cell phone forensics, neighborhood canvasses, CSI services, drone operations, interviews and coordination with outside agencies when necessary.

While police are working diligently to gather and verify information, some details may be withheld to protect the investigation and avoid sharing unconfirmed and potentially misleading information, the KPD Facebook post read.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Kewanee police.

A Facebook page, Search and Rescue for Catrelle Reed, was made over the weekend and has 596 followers as of Tuesday.

The page administrator is seeking those who want to help with the search of Catrelle and is asking for residents in the vicinity where Reed was last seen to check their cameras for visual and audio.
