By The Kewanee Voice    April 1, 2025

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a scam involving individuals posing as employees of the sheriff’s department.

These scammers have been calling or attempting to call residents to gain personal information for fraudulent purposes, the sheriff’s office news release said.

“Remember; the Sheriff’s Office will never call and ask for personal information, payment or threaten arrest over the phone.”

The HCSO warns anyone who receives a suspicious call to hang up immediately and not provide any details. Residents should verify any claims by calling the sheriff’s official number directly.

Residents who believe they have been targeted or have any concerns, should report it to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at 309-937-3911.

The HCSO advises residents to stay alert and share this information to protect others.
