Readers of The Kewanee Voice might have noticed the absence of the daily Kewanee police blotter this week. Several readers, in fact, have reached out to inquire.
The daily blotter is usually delivered by email in the early morning, but on Monday, the blotter never came. While it’s not unusual for the blotter to be occasionally delayed, when it hadn’t arrived to the Voice’s inbox on Tuesday, an inquiry was made to the dispatcher.
The Kewanee Police Department has been experiencing technical difficulties that have made it impossible to put out the blotter.
On Thursday, Chief Stephen Kijanowski said that the department was informed that the system should be up and running again as early as Friday morning but possibly later in the day.
Kijanowski said that they will be working on entering all the information from incidents and once that happens, they will email those reports to the news outlets.
