The Kewanee Park Board Thursday approved a “early bird” offer that can save golfers on the cost of next year’s membership at the Baker Park golf course.
And there’s an added incentive for golfers who aren’t members this year: If they purchase a membership this fall, they’ll be able to play at no additional charge through the end of this golf season.
Andrew Dwyer, executive director of the park district, said a number of other area courses offer similar promotions.
Dwyer said by taking advantage of the “early bird” offer, golfers can avoid a price increase that will be made for season tickets next year — and play for free until the end of this season, if they’re not members now.
He told the board he hopes the offer will get people who haven’t been members before to buy season passes at the golf course.
