Obituary For Thomas Henry Billiet
Thomas Henry Billiet, age 77, of Fort Collins, Colo., passed away Oct. 8, 2026.
Thomas Henry Billiet was born in Kewanee, Ill., on July 26, 1949, to Hollis (Wiley) and Henry Billiet. He was the first child in a set of all boy triplets. In 1967, Thomas graduated from Kewanee High School.
In 1972, Tom married Linda. The pair later divorced, but two beautiful children came from the marriage. In 1973, Tisha was born as the first daughter. Later, in 1979, Ryan joined the family.
In his adult years, Tom enjoyed everything to do with sports – watching, playing and coaching. As a fan, he supported the Colorado Rockies, Colorado Avalanche and held CSU men's basketball season tickets for 10 years. As a bowler, he held an impressive record for 21 strikes in a row with two 7-10 splits for an 813 series. In 2003, Tom was an assistant coach for Poudre High School boys' soccer team and led them to win the 5A State Championship.
Outside of sports, Tom was known for his quirky sense of humor and loved to make people smile. He enjoyed playing cards and watching Columbo. If you knew Tom, you knew he never went anywhere without a hat and his sunglasses. In his spare time, he enjoyed volunteering at Southridge Golf Course and Poudre Valley Hospital. Tom thoroughly enjoyed ice cream and sweets, especially Little Debbie Snack Cakes. When it came to mealtime, Tom wouldn’t eat without a layer of salt covering his plate.
In 1997, Tom was diagnosed with Parkinson's at 48 years old. After his diagnosis, he was among the early trials for Parkinson's research, including trialing new medications and deep brain stimulation.
Above all else, Tom held a deep love for his family. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren more than anything in the world. Tom was incredibly proud of the family he had created.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; Henry and Hollis Billiet, his sister; Linda Bolls, his golfing buddy; George Kaplan and his beloved dogs; Sam and Layla.
Thomas is survived by his daughter; Tisha (Lino) Morales of Fort Collins, Colo., his son; Ryan (Erika) Billiet of Kalispell, Mont., his grandchildren; Aaron Morales of Wellington, Colo., Damian Morales of Fort Collins, Colo., Mason Billiet and Taylor Billiet of Kalispell, Mont., his great grandchildren; Aidan Wheatley and Lainey Morales of Wellington, Colo., his brothers; Don (Linda) Billiet of Kewanee, Ill. and Ron (Darlene) Billiet of Sterling, Ill.
A special thanks to his amazing golfing buddies Brent Hardy and Ray Zimmerman. Golfing every Thursday and weekly breakfasts at The Breakfast Club, contributed to his longevity and to his love for life.
Tom’s family will be having a brunch open house celebration of life on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at 2333 Flagstaff Place, Fort Collins, Colo., 80524. In honor of Tom, the family requests that you wear your favorite golf shirt or sports apparel.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research – https://give.michaeljfox.org/campaign/831853/donate
