Steven “Steve” Harold Heath, age 68, of Melbourne, Iowa, formerly of Kewanee, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, at his home and under the care of Wesley Hospice of Ames, Iowa.

Per the wishes of Steve and his family, cremation rites have been accorded under the care of the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. A family-led celebration of life will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Christian Church in Marshalltown. The family will also have a celebration at Johnson Park in Kewanee, Illinois on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

Steve was born May 12, 1956, to parents Harold Hessler and Alice (Moss) Heath. He grew up in Waterloo, Iowa before relocating to Kewanee, Illinois. He worked several jobs over the years: in a warehouse, for a moving company, at Kewanee Boiler, for Pines Trailer and as a cook in a kitchen. While working as a Licensed Practical Nurse at a local nursing home, he met the love of his life, Laura (Brown). They were united in marriage on December 11, 1987, in Kewanee, where they spent the next several decades and raised their three children. Steve dedicated the last years of his working career to driving truck, living in Oklahoma for a time before moving to Melbourne, Iowa. He enjoyed listening to audiobooks in his free time.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 37 years, Laura; their children: James Heath, Stephanie (Valentine) Sandavol and Noah Heath; as well as two grand-dogs, who he loved to spoil.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Alice and his brother, Frederick Heath.
