Obituary For Sharon J. Greene

Sharon J. Greene, 86, of Kewanee, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024, at Richard L. Owens Hospice House, Peoria. Sharon was born March 22, 1938, in Kankakee, IL, the daughter of Lester A. and Ileen M. (Hoffman) Vanderlinden. She graduated from St. Anne High School and attended nursing school. She married William J. Greene on June 29, 1957, in St. Anne, IL, he preceded her in death on October 26, 2013.

Sharon is survived by two sons, Robert L. Greene, Reno, NV., and Ronald T. Greene, Springfield, Mo.; four grandchildren, Sean Greene, Aaron Greene, Abbey Greene, and Joshua Denzer; and two great granddaughters, Layna Belle Greene and Violet Marie Greene.

Sharon worked for many years at JC Penney, CVS, and Osco obtaining many awards for perfect attendance and customer service. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Galva. Sharon enjoyed reading, yoga, shopping, yard work, planting her flower cart, and going to Culvers. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. John Paul II Parish, Kewanee. Father Chris Haake will officiate. The burial will be at Wethersfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Henry County Humane Society, Kewanee. Please leave any online condolences at www.golnickschuenemanfuneralhome.com

    I worked with Sharon for the Henry County Humane Society. She was such a special lady who went above and beyond for the animals. She was always smiling and such a super sweet person. Thanks for everything Sharon... rest in peace ❤️. Jill Kelman
