Obituary For Sally "Joan" Endress

Sally “Joan” Endress, 68, of Kewanee, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL after a brief illness.

Born in Peoria on January 23, 1957, to Daniel and Lois (Miller) Endress, she was raised on a farm in rural Speer and graduated from Wyoming High School in 1975.

After moving to Peoria, she worked several jobs including receptionist at Heinold-Banwart and manager at Ducky’s Formal Wear. She later changed careers and sold furniture at American TV and Appliance and then at Lippmann’s. In 2023 she moved to Kewanee to be closer to her family.

Surviving are brothers Gary (Evelyn) of Kewanee, Keith and Bill of Galva, sister Judy McKinney of Tallahassee, FL, sisters-in-law Renee’ Endress of Peoria and Joanni Endress of Morton, as well as 13 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Fred, and brother-in-law Lewis McKinney.

Joan was of the Christian faith. She lived a quiet life since her retirement. Bill’s dog Pearl brought her much joy and solace in the past few years.

The funeral service will be at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Nephews Bruce Endress and Tyler Endress will officiate. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Bradford, IL.

Memorials may be made to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.

    We only knew Joan for a month or so since we moved in next door but we became friends and we'll miss her but we know she's in her Lord's presence and we will meet again! Take care and God bless!
