Elk Grove, California - Rose M. Dye, 84, of Elk Grove, passed on Jan 26th, 2024 from esophagus cancer. Rose was born on October 15, 1939 to Albert and Marie Damm in Princeton, IL. She attended Visitation Catholic School and graduated from Kewanee High School, in Kewanee, IL. She graduated from Mid-State College of Commerce in Peoria, IL.

She met her life partner, Harold Dye, while in Peoria. They were married 63 years. They had 3 sons, Michael (deceased), Rich of Sunnyvale, CA., and Eric of Elk Grove, CA.

After staying home with her kids through elementary school, she worked as an engineering technician from Mare Island Naval shipyard in Vallejo, retiring in 1994.

She leaves 6 grandsons, Ricky and Sean of Sunnyvale, CA and Jacob of Denver, Co, Philip and twins Luke and Paul of Elk Grove, CA. All grandsons have or are pursuing engineering degrees.

Rose moved to the bay area in 1964 with her husband due to a job transfer. They lived in Napa, CA for many years before moving to Elk Grove, CA to a Del Webb community for the past 16 years.

She really loved her grandchildren. She liked to travel and will be missed by many of her Del Webb, Glenbrook, friends.

A mass service will be said for her at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 9539 Racket Ct. Elk Grove, CA on February 15th at 11am. A reception will be held following the services. Her remains will have a final resting place at Tulocay Cemetary in Napa, CA.
