Rodney “Mellow” P. Gerard Jr., 69, of Toulon, passed away at 11:07 a.m., Saturday, April 18, 2026, at his home. Rodney was born August 14, 1956, in Kewanee to Rodney and Nola (Puckett) Gerard Sr. He attended Toulon High School.

Surviving is one daughter, Julie (Brad) Belser of Peoria; one granddaughter, Nora Belser of Peoria; two sisters, Tina (Tim) Lucas of Toulon and Brenda (Dwight) Doss of Galva. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rodney worked as an autobody technician, first for himself and later for Bill’s Autobody in Kewanee. He loved riding motorcycles, especially Harleys. He enjoyed fishing in his younger years. He also enjoyed attending Flea Markets and collecting antiques. Rodney loved good food, movies, especially black and white, and he loved old westerns. Most of all, he loved his family.

Per Rodney’s wishes there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Haskell Funeral & Cremation Services, Wyoming is assisting the family. Condolences may be left for Rodney’s family on his tribute wall at www.haskellfuneral.com.
