Nedra Louise Baird Theodore, age 82, widow of Gus J. Theodore passed away in her home in Berea, KY on Saturday, August 31st, 2024. She was born December 1st, 1941, in Chicago, IL to the late Charles and Anna Baird.

Nedra moved to Berea three years ago from Kewanee, IL to be close to her daughter Gayle and her family. She was an avid seamstress, loved sewing and she was awarded Volunteer of the Year in Kewanee for her work mending the clothes of nursing home residents throughout the community. Nedra worked until the age of 78 in Kewanee cleaning homes for senior citizens. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and working in and volunteering at her church. Nedra was a faithful member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Kewanee where she maintained the Memory Garden, cleaned the church, mended clothing, and made bible bags for the youth, she was also known as the recycling queen of Calvary Baptist Church. She was an avid collector/saver of paper clips and paper of all shapes and sizes.

Nedra is survived by two children, Gayle J. Powell and her husband Greg of Berea, KY, and Matthew Theodore of Davis, CA. Her sisters, Ardyth Carlstedt and her husband Richard of Green Bay, WI, twin sister Nelda “Nellie” Parker and her husband Bill of Palos Hills, IL, her brother Robert Baird, and his wife Dawn of Portland, OR. Grandchildren, Sadie Collet and her husband Tyler of Vero Beach, FL., Garrett Theodore-Powell of Berea, KY, LaDonna “Suzie” Miller and her husband Kevin of Mount Vernon, KY. Two great grandchildren that she adored, Theodore “Theo” Collet, and Gracie Lynn Miller. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and a friend to many.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Saturday, September 7th, 2024 at Davis & Powell Funeral Home in Berea, KY with funeral services on Sunday, September 8th, 2024 at 2:00 PM also at the funeral home, you may view the service live at www.davisandpowellfuneralhome.com burial will follow in the Chasteen Cemetery in Rockcastle County, KY. Pallbearers will be, Garrett Theodore-Powell, Tyler Collet, Steven Boetscher, Bill Parker, Andy Parker, Joe Parker, Bill Nicholson, and Logan Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Sadie Collet, Suzie Miller, Theo Collet, and Gracie Lynn Miller.
