Obituary For Mary A. Rowlison

Mary A. Rowlison, 79, of Kewanee, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Gardens at Kewanee (Betty’s Garden). Mary was born July 24, 1945, in Kewanee, the daughter of William L. and Eva Elaine (German) Martin. She attended and graduated from Kewanee High School with the class of 1963. She also attended Black Hawk College for computer science. Mary married Brian “BJ” J. Rowlison on August 9, 1987, in Kewanee; he survives.

Mary is also survived by eight cousins, Karen Smith, Topeka, KS, Sue Johnson, Cambridge, Dan Hagen, Springfield, IL, Jim German, Kewanee, Bob German, Galesburg, Alan German, Larry German and Debbie Hines, Kewanee. She was preceded in death by her parents; aunts and uncles.

Mary worked as a computer operator, working at Boss, Hyster, Hy-Pac, and Compaction America. Mary's passion for flying was not just a hobby but a reflection of her free spirit and love for the world from above. Her enthusiasm for boating was equally matched by the countless memories she created navigating the waters with her beloved Brian, with whom she shared the joys of RV camping. She also enjoyed going to the YMCA, walking and gardening. She loved horses, cats and dogs, especially their beloved dog, Ranger.

Mary's spirited journey through life will be profoundly missed, yet her legacy of embracing each day with open arms will continue to inspire all who knew her.
