Obituary For Linda Brown

Linda Brown, 68, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at her home. Linda was born March 3, 1955, on Biggs Army Airfield at Fort Bliss El Paso, Texas, the daughter of Donald Benjamin, Sr. and Joan (Helslander) Phelps. Linda attended Wethersfield Schools.

Linda is survived by her mother, Joan; one son, Tim (Missy) Boswell; two brothers, Jim (Sherry) Phelps, Jerry Phelps; grandchildren, Daniel Boswell, Kaitlynn Boswell, Carter Brown, Adilyn Brown; step grandchildren, Dustin (Erin) Bucy, North Carolina, Andrew (Jennifer) Bucy, Robert Willey, Christina Willey; six step great grandchildren and another on the way; and an uncle, David Helslander, all of Kewanee. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Benjamin Phelps, Sr.; son, Benjamin “Ben” Brown; brother, Donald Benjamin Phelps, Jr.; two Boswell grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Connie Phelps.

Linda worked as an investigator for the Henry County Humane Society in her early years. She later worked at Great Dane and Courtyard Estates and was a bus aid after she retired from Courtyard. Linda enjoyed working outside in her yard. She enjoyed supporting her grandson’s football game and attended the Kewanee Boilermakers football games. Linda also enjoyed Hog Days cookouts with everyone at her house. Linda’s biggest love was her grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00 am, Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Rosary will be at 10:00 am, Saturday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Saturday at Saint John Paul II Parish. Father Chris Haake will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
