Larry L. Neirynck, 62, of Coal Valley, formerly of Kewanee, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, at Allure of Geneseo.

He was born on March 12, 1964, in Kewanee, the son of Robert C. “Bobby” and Alice Mae (Jenkins) Neirynck. He married Pam Kutchma and they later divorced but remained close friends. Survivors include his son, Eric (Andrea) Neirynck of Coal Valley, his daughter, Chelsea Neirynck of Sheffield, brother, Terry (Susan) Neirynck of Kewanee, his two grandchildren, Amelia and Autumn and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Menard

Larry went to school to study cinema make-up effects and worked on a couple of movies in Hollywood. He later was manager and senior technician at a prosthetic laboratory in Davenport, Iowa. He enjoyed music, playing the ukulele, comic books, superhero movies and cosplaying with intricate costumes. Larry had a passion for Halloween and worked close with his cousin; Gary Neirynck building props and sets for haunted houses.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, August 24 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Pastor Andrew Christman officiating. The visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Wethersfield Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to Abilities Plus in Kewanee.
