KEWANEE - Justin V. Vancil, 48, of Kewanee, died at 10:11 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 18 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Pastor Haley Hausman officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the services, and private inurnment will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.

Justin was born on December 12, 1977, in Kewanee, the son of Vaughn and Carol (Burrows) Vancil. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Carol (Jesse) Lee of Neponset, three daughters, Chelsey and Kylie Johnson, both of Everett, WA and Izabel Vancil of Galva, two grandchildren, Booker and Alivia, two sisters, Kari Vinson of Kewanee and Paula (Armando) Herrera Galicia of Galesburg and four nieces and nephews, Tyler Snider of Kewanee, Marissa (Dallas) Ensley of Kewanee, Karissa Neal and Meagan (Alex) Nunez, both of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his father.

Justin worked as a supervisor and general contractor and worked for Ed Sturtevant Construction and as a maintenance supervisor at Motel 6 in Kewanee. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed bowling, camping, hunting, fishing, golfing and socializing. He especially loved the outdoors and was a pro bass fisherman.
