Obituary For Harley Dean Rediger

Toulon – Harley Dean Rediger, 93, of Toulon passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 3:33 p.m. at The Villas at Kewanee. He was born July 1, 1932, in Marshall County, to Viril and Melissa (Noret) Rediger. He married Bernadette “Bernie” (Sharkey) Rediger on May 26, 1956, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Bradford.

Harley was a 1951 graduate from Bradford High School and served in the United States Army from 1952-1954. He was a farmer all his life. He loved hunting and woodworking. His specialty was duck carving; however, he carved Santa Clauses and snowmen for his children and grandchildren, which he loved dearly. He was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Wyoming. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Toulon American Legion. Harley was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan but especially loved following his children and grandchildren’s sports events throughout the years.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Bernadette; their five children, Sheila (David) Lindahl of Wyoming, Michael (Theresa) Rediger of Toulon, Sherry Emerick of Willoughby, OH, Steven (Julie) Rediger of Statesboro, GA and Tammy (Scott) Kolbe of Naperville; nine grandchildren, Martiann (Jared) Gavin, Rustin (Aimee) Webster, Joey (Amanda) Rediger, Kelsey (Omar Teugels) Rediger, Jon (Emily) Rediger, Jake (Hannah) Kolbe, Niki Kolbe, Kiley Rediger, and JD Rediger; six great-grandchildren, Payton, Braden, Eliza, Oliver, June, and Sophia, and a great-granddaughter due in January; two sisters, Marijean Bishel of Peoria and Linda Manning of Morton; and one brother, Ralph (Becky) Rediger of Princeton. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral mass will be Monday, October 20, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Wyoming. Father Krengiel will preside. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., also at the church. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Bradford.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Dominic’s Catholic Church or the Toulon Fire Department. Haskell Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting with the arrangements. Online condolences may be left for Harley’s family on his tribute wall at www.haskellfuneral.com.
