Obituary For Gary L. Hadsall

KEWANEE - Gary L. Hadsall, 82, of Kewanee, died Monday, October 7, 2024, at his home.

He was born February 7, 1942, in Kewanee, the son of Walter and Ida (DeBord) Hadsall. He married Peggy Conway Lappin on June 17, 1988, in Galva. Survivors include his wife of Kewanee, stepson, Todd Lappin of Moline, his stepdaughter Teresa (Marty) Mirocha of Kewanee, two brothers, Mike Hadsall of Kewanee and Bruce (Robin) Hadsall of Macomb, three grandchildren; Megan (Steve) Breland, Molly Mirocha and Mackenzie Mirocha (Shane Cox) and two great grandchildren, Marissa Kehl and Macy Breland. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Rena.

Gary graduated from Kewanee High School in 1960. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Boss Manufacturing Co. in the Data Processing Dept. prior to going to Wyffels Hybrids Seed Company until his retirement. He was a member of the Kewanee American Legion and had the privilege of attending the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities to Washington DC in April of 2019. His hobbies included golfing, and he was a member of the Kewanee Golf Association and the Baker Park Hole-in-One Club.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 18 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee where military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Rev. Dan Craig and Rev. Randy Hroziencik will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.

    My condolences to all of Gary's family. Gary was a great guy to know and I enjoyed for many years playing golf with him. Gary was one of the "leaders" of the old guys morning golfers at Baker Park. Did not know he had a hole-in-one. Mike, do you have yours yet.
