Doris E. Lindstrom, 99, of Kewanee, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Hillcrest Home in Geneseo. She was born on March 27, 1927, the daughter of Laurence and Blanche (Barton) Cady in Kewanee. She married Earl Lindstrom on January 16, 1949 in Kewanee, he preceded her in death on January 6, 2013.

Doris is survived by daughter, Martha (Michael) Kull of Morton; sons, Dale (Debbie) Lindstrom of Kewanee and Keith (Pam) Lindstrom of Kewanee; grandchildren, Jeremy (Amanda) Lindstrom of Aurora, IL, Amber (Shaun) Ebner of Joliet, IL, Amy (Erik) Mathison of Erin Hills, WI, Laurel (Dan) Fulling of Brownsburg, IN, Emily Kull of Bloomington, and Angela (Jim Streifel) Lindstrom of Parker, CO; and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Phyllis Schultz; and a brother who died at birth, Robert Cady.

Doris graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1945 and went on to work for People’s National Bank. In her later years she became a clerk at Weight Watchers for over fifteen years. She was a housewife and took pride in taking care of her family and loved spending time with them by having her grandkids out at the farm and going on Sunday drives with her husband, Earl. She spent her time in the nursing home by doing crossword puzzles and playing games like Yahtzee and Sorry, played by the original rules. Even at her age, she could still beat her daughter Martha in a game of Chinese Checkers.
