Donald L. Snider, 91, of Kewanee, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Monday, March 9, 2026. Cremation rites have been accorded, and no services will be held. Vandemore Funeral Home – Geneseo Chapel will be assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please direct all memorials to the family.

Donald Snider was born on July 19, 1934, in Kewanee, Illinois, the son of Pearl and Alta (Trout) Snider. He was reared and educated in Kewanee, where he spent much of his early life. On February 14, 1957, Donald married Nancy A. Wood in Hernando, Mississippi. Their union spanned many cherished years. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed for a time in Baumholder, Germany. He enjoyed an active life filled with favorite pastimes, including bowling, roller skating, boating, and enthusiastically following sports as an avid fan. Donald built a diverse career through dedicated work at several employers, including Hyster, Advanced Metalworks, and Kewanee Co-Op. He also took pride in being a part-owner of Willardon & Bowie Machine Shop in Bettendorf, Iowa. Donald Snider will be remembered for his service to his nation, his love of life's simple joys, and the strong work ethic that defined his professional journey. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, and other family members and friends who will carry forward his memory.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Nancy Snider; children, Timothy Snider of Hoffman Estates, IL, and Tamara (Daniel) Swanson of Alpha, IL; grandsons, Mark (Abbi) Swanson and Matthew (Sarah) Swanson; and great-grandchildren, Sadie Swanson and Reid Swanson.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Alta Snider.
