Obituary For Colton Eisenbarth Smith

Colton Eisenbarth Smith, 32, of Kewanee, died on June 2, 2025, at the Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born August 20, 1992, in Ottawa, Illinois, the son of Doug and Janel (Eisenbarth) Smith. He graduated from Wethersfield High School in 2010 and enlisted with the U.S. Army, serving in Afghanistan with Operation Enduring Freedom. He earned several awards and decorations including an Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, an Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and a NATO Medal.

After returning to Illinois, he was employed with VonHolten Farms and he owned and operated Cowboy Cliff Automotive Repair.

He is survived by sons Wyatt and Ryker; a daughter, Lovelynn; his mother, Janel Eisenbarth Smith; paternal grandparents, Charlie and Nancy Smith; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Doug; and maternal grandparents, Joe Eisenbarth and Janice Eisenbarth.

Cremation has been accorded, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) to support veterans with healthcare, employment and education.

    Very very respectful man. Very nice and always had a smile on his face. Hard worker too. He would always come up to our shop getting tires for his business. Thank you for your service and rest easy. Praying for all of his family and kids.
