Obituary For Clarence Raymond Robinson Jr.
Clarence Raymond Robinson, Jr. (“Robbie” or “Jr.”) was born April 1, 1933, in Kewanee, the son of Clarence R. and Florence (Kuster) Robinson, Sr. He married Priscilla A. “Pris” Lindstrum on March 7, 1954, at Zion Lutheran Church; she preceded him in death on July 3, 2024. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Eileen Burton, and a son in infancy.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Lisa Robinson of Colorado Springs, CO; Lynnette Robinson of Columbia, MO; Steve Robinson of Madison, WI; David (Lesley) Robinson of Bourbonnais, IL; and LuAnn (Mark) Edmundson of LeRoy, IL; grandchildren: Thomas and Mark Robinson and Jack and Sam Edmundson; siblings: a brother, Gerry (Judy) Robinson of Hungary; a sister, Linda (Dennis) McDonald of Muscatine, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
Robbie graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1951 and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, stationed on the USS Intrepid. He was the owner and operator of Robinson’s Farm Service Center in Annawan and was a farmer at heart. In retirement, Robbie remained active, working for several years at Gustafson Ford in Galva and Kewanee. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and an active member of community organizations, including the Annawan-Alba Fire Department and the Annawan Kiwanis Club.
Robbie was an avid follower of University of Illinois Athletics. Most of all, Robbie enjoyed following the activities of his children and grandchildren throughout his life.
The family would like to thank the staff at Courtyard Estates in Kewanee for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Robbie for nearly five years.
Service Information: Visitation will be held from 4:00–7:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 2, at Zion Lutheran Church in Kewanee with Linnea Gustafson officiating. Inurnment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in rural Kewanee, where military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church in Kewanee or the Annawan-Alba Fire Department.
